Eden Christian Academy

Community Service & Missions Outreach

Eden offers many opportunities for students to learn by serving others through their involvement with community service and Christian mission organizations including:
  • Urban Impact
  • World Vision
  • Light of Life Mission
  • Pittsburgh Project
  • Jump Rope for Heart
  • North Hills Community Outreach
  • Pittsburgh Food Banks
  • Local Nursing Homes
These and other opportunities have enabled students to understand the importance of making a difference in others' lives through their service to the community.
Eden also partners with the Sarcoma Foundation and raises money for that organization with our Warrior 5K and Walk-A-Thon.  In addition, we have sent groups of high school students to Arizona, Joplin, Missouri, and New York City to serve on short term mission trips.

Spiritual Enrichment Week February 2016

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21

"What a blessing Spiritual Enrichment Week has been, from the Christian author’s example of how we can spread God’s message as writers to the special chapel speakers who helped us to open our hearts and minds to examine our relationship with Christ. We learned the importance of “unity” during the Winter Olympic activities as we welcomed the Berkeley Hills students to our Wexford campus for the day. How exciting it has been to see the students quote the various Bible verses and apply them to their lives. Finally, our prayer has been and will continue to be throughout the rest of the year, that the students will accept the Lord as their Savior and continue to grow deeper in Him." -Mrs. Carrie Powers, Wexford Campus Principal

Eden Upper School Students Participate in the Pittsburgh Project

The Pittsburgh Project is a non-profit organization based out of the North Side of Pittsburgh.  It is dedicated to serving the city through the ministry of home renovation. Middle school and high school age students spend a week providing various home repairs to their homeowners, who are often elderly or restricted physically.
The teams that served this year performed various tasks such as building, painting, flooring, and roofing. The process also empowers our youth to encourage them that they can make a difference.

Jumping for Heart, Fun, and Good Health at Eden’s Berkeley Hills

Best jump rope year yet!  2015 was Eden’s third year to participate in Jump Rope for Heart.
72 students were involved, collecting over $5,550 for the American Heart Association, which amounts to more than $10,000 in three years.  Prior to the actual day of the rope jumping event, Eden students enthusiastically raised funds and learned how to maintain a healthy heart by focusing on diet, exercise, abstinence from smoking, drinking plenty of water, and other important lifestyle habits. On a personal note this year, attending the Berkeley Hills campus are two Heart Heroes who shared their stories with the students, Kamaria Childers and Natalie Jackson.
Once Spiritual Enrichment Week finally arrived, the P.E. classes were alive with students performing various rope jumping events and competitions: most jumps backward and forward in a minute, Double Dutch, Hippity Hops, as well as other rope jumping. (Video coming soon)
