2019 Summer Reading | Grades 1-6

2019 Summer Reading Program

How do you get better at reading? By reading, of course! Research shows a high correlation between reading and academic success. Jane Healy in Endangered Minds suggests that language shapes brains and therefore reading experiences help to develop the brain of young children.

Eden provides a Summer Reading Program for all students entering first through sixth grades. Your child is invited to participate in any of the following summer reader prizes.  Simply read the required amount of books (or pages) and record on the reading log with parent signature.

  • Chick-Fil-A - Coupons awarded at beginning of school year. Bring your Eden Summer Reading Log (link below) to school during the first week of school.

  • Applebees - Students will receive a “Books are a Blast Reward Card” for a free kids meal or mozzarella sticks. Bring your Eden Summer Reading Log (link below) to school during the first week of school.

  • Barnes & Noble Imagination Destination - Bring the completed and signed Barnes & Noble reading form (link below) to your local Barnes & Noble Store between August 1 and August 31, 2019. Present it to an employee and your child will be able to choose a book from the free book list. (NOTE: Barnes & Noble requires 8 books.)
